Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 cancelled, leak suggests company now working on Xiaomi X1
Earlier there were rumours that Xiaomi was working on a new device called the Redmi Pro 2. But, it seems not any longer. A new leak coming from China suggests that the Chinese smartphonemaker has decided to not go ahead with the Redmi Pro 2. In its place, the company is seemingly working on a new device called the Xiaomi X1. The information about the Redmi Pro 2 cancellation was reported by GizmoChina first. The website claims that Xiaomi has reportedly cancelled the Redmi Pro 2.The rumor notes that Redmi Pro 2, which was reportedly spotted on the company website a few days ago, has been now replaced by a new phone which is called Xiaomi X1. The leaked report further suggests that the smartphone will come in two hardware versions, wherein one will feature a bezel-less display, while the second variant is expected to come packed with a regular display. The latest report also reveals almost the complete specs that the new Xiaomi X1 may sport.The base model (not the bezel-less one) of the Xiaomi X1 is expected to feature a 5.5-inch full-HD display screen with 2,160×1,080 resolution and may be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 processor. Rumours further claim that the device may either come with a IMX362 or IMX386 dual camera system, under which the handset is expected to sport a fingerprint scanner. As per pricing details, the 64GB will cost around 1,999 Yuan (roughly Rs 19,049) and 128GB will be priced at 2,499 Yuan (roughly Rs 23,847). On the other hand, the bezel-less variant is also expected to come in two options — 6GB RAM/64GB storage that will cost 2,299 Yuan (roughly Rs 21,939), while the other version with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage will cost around 2,799 Yuan (roughly Rs 26,673). In terms of specifications, Redmi Note 5 will comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p screen, pretty much similar to that of the Redmi Note 4 and is expected to run on Android Nougat OS. Further, the phone will reportedly be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor and will come coupled with 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB internal storage. On the camera front, the Redmi Note 5 is said to come with a 16-megapixel camera on the rear and a 13-megapixel camera on the front and is expected to be backed by a 3,790mAh battery which will be paired with Quick Charge 4.0. support.Meanwhile in India, and something that relates to the current Xiaomi products, the Redmi Note 4 is on sale today at Amazon and Mi.com, which the the store run by Xiaomi.
