first_imgSign up for our COVID-19 newsletter to stay up-to-date on the latest coronavirus news throughout New York A pair of masked men repeatedly pistol-whipped an Elmont man who thwarted the assailants’ home invasion attempt this week, Nassau County police said.The 25-year-old victim was about to unlock the front door of his Sweetman Avenue home when the would-be robbers, one of whom was armed with a silver handgun, told him to open the door and hand over his keys at 9:28 p.m. Monday, police said.When the victim refused, the attackers struck in the head with the gun several times, causing him to suffer a laceration. After a struggle over the keys, the duo fled empty handed.Fourth Squad detectives request anyone with information regarding this case to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
