Private sector wants in on Crime Talks at Security Council level

first_imgFacebook Twitter Google+LinkedInPinterestWhatsApp Facebook Twitter Google+LinkedInPinterestWhatsAppProvidenciales, TCI, February 8, 2017 – The Private sector says it wants a seat at the table in crime fighting and national security planning.   In a demand that centers on four basic requests, residents gathered in a small but healthy crowd at the Gus Lightbourne Gym, Tuesday.President of the Provo Chamber of Commerce, Kyle Smith launched the short meeting with talk about what the petition which will be sent on to the Governor and Government requests.  It is calling for swift action to find criminals, swift action to get guns off the streets, a strategy for crime fighting that works for the Turks and Caicos and assertive plan to build public trust of Police and Law Enforcers for better relationships.The Turks and Caicos Hotel and Tourism Association and the Young Corporate Alliance were represented; reiterating the general message of the petition that ‘enough is enough’ when it comes to crime and violence and the way is appears to be flourishing.   “This is a large group of the community, we account for the largest part of the economy of Turks and Caicos, so we have strength.  What we’re doing is we’re trying to build strength in numbers and that’s why this document is not just being signed by myself, it’s not being signed by the Hotel and Tourism Association leader or the leader of the Young Cooperate Alliance.  This is being signed by all of us.”The petition was due to put online and will be available for more signatures; the goal is to get 1000.#MagneticMediaNews #SignourPetition Related Items:#magneticmedianews, #SignourPetitionlast_img read more
