A theft of over $2,500 carries felony charges. This theft was more than $2,500.”Davenport said Jones was placed in the Pike County Jail on a $5,000 bond.Also arrested on Wednesday was Willie Frank Griffin, 59, of Brundidge. first_img Twitter IndianaLocalNews Pinterest WhatsApp Twitter Google+ Pinterest Man accused in deadly shooting at America Legion Post in South Bend sentenced By Jon Zimney – March 14, 2020 0 253 Google+ (Photo supplied/St. Joseph County Jail) A man accused in a deadly shooting at an American Legion Post in South Bend has been learned his fate.Bruce Bennett, 60, was sentenced to 45 years in prison for shooting and killing Theodore Braun at the post back in December of 2018.Bennett was also sentenced to an additional 5 years for a firearm enhancement.Braun died due to a gunshot wound to the chest.His death was ruled a homicide.The St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office released the following information:Bruce Bennett, 60, appeared before a St. Joseph County Superior Court judge and was sentenced to 50 years in the Indiana Department of Correction for the December 14, 2018, shooting death of Theodore “Teddy” Braun.On February 13, 2020, a jury found Bruce Bennett guilty of Murder; the jury rendered its verdict after deliberating for less than two hours. The defendant admitted to the filedFirearm Sentencing Enhancement.At the sentencing hearing, the judge sentenced Mr. Bennett to 45 years on the Murdercharge and added an additional 5 years for the Firearm Sentencing Enhancement, whichare to run consecutively.
