The main concept of the architectural project was to house a tree in a building that integrates environmental energies and creates a clear dialog between the natural elements and the building.Save this picture!© Fabio PitrezThe building develops in the surrounds of a jabuticaba tree that has an emotional value to the owners. The three belonged to the house where the owner lived her childhood, and the architectural project became a childhood dream realization; to create a conceptual house in the surroundings of that beloved tree.Save this picture!© Fabio PitrezThe primary conceptual goal of the project was to house the natural illumination and ventilation throughout the building, minimizing the environmental impact of the construction and maximizing its interaction with the surroundings energies. A water drain system was projected to use the height of the house to harvest rainwater on the roof and distribute it throughout the house by gravity.Save this picture!Floor PlanThe spaces composition surrounding the Jabuticabeira allows for morning sunlight to reach the social area and part of the intimate area of the house. Large openings to the east permit mild sunlight throughout the day, while allowing ample access of the dominant breeze that comes from the east in this geographic location. On the northern façade, a linear garden was created to follow in lines with the superior floor rooms. During the day, this garden works as a reflector of diffuse light into these rooms, while, at night, its internal illumination is projected to the outside of the house, acquiring the irregular shapes of the large wall openings.Save this picture!© Fabio PitrezOn the dormitories facing north, a horizontal brise controls the sunlight access into the rooms, providing them with a more private environment.Save this picture!SectionThe internal flow is well defined and separates the intimate area from the social and service areas. The superposed volumes also emphasize these marked differences in forms in the facade.Save this picture!© Fabio PitrezProject gallerySee allShow lessThe Power Of The Plan: Drones And Architectural PhotographyArticlesRiviera Bar / Studio MK27 – Marcio Kogan + Beatriz Meyer + Eduardo Chalabi + Diana R…Selected Projects Share “COPY” Architects: Raffo Arquitetura Area Area of this architecture project Jabuticaba House / Raffo Arquitetura Brazil Projects 2012 CopyHouses•Londrina, Brazil CopyAbout this officeRaffo ArquiteturaOfficeFollowProductConcrete#TagsProjectsBuilt ProjectsSelected ProjectsResidential ArchitectureHousesLondrinaHousesBrazilPublished on January 27, 2015Cite: “Jabuticaba House / Raffo Arquitetura” 27 Jan 2015. Housing Activity Enters 2021 ‘On Strong Footing’

first_imgHome / Daily Dose / Housing Activity Enters 2021 ‘On Strong Footing’ Previous: Fixed-Rates Inch Closer to 3% Mark Next: NY Court of Appeals Rules on Foreclosure Deceleration, SOL Share Save The Week Ahead: Nearing the Forbearance Exit 2 days ago According to BuildFax’s January 2021 “Housing Health Report,” single-family housing authorizations decreased just 0.36% from December 2020’s totals, remaining relatively flat, partly attributed to rising building material costs and a lack of affordable lots. Despite the slight dip in month-over-month activity, new housing supply remains strong, with year-over-year activity up 9.89% and the trailing three-month outlook, covering the months of November 2020 to January 2021, up 11% despite a continued tight national housing supply.“Housing activity enters 2021 on a strong footing,” said Jonathan Kanarek, Managing Director of BuildFax. “January marks the sixth month of year-over-year increases in new and existing housing supply, which should be welcome news for the broader economy.”The report found that housing maintenance volume and spending increased 8.37% and 17.87% respectively, year-over-year. Additionally, remodeling volume and expenses—a subset of maintenance including home renovations, additions and alterations—increased 10.04% and 12.37% year-over-year, respectively.Homeowners were hesitant to enter the market in January, leading to new home inventory lows. Consequently, existing housing activity remains strong as homeowners choose to invest in their properties rather than re-enter the market.“However, despite increasing new construction, homeowners are facing a severe housing shortage,” said Kanarek. “Homebuyers are likely to face a competitive spring homebuying season, as sellers remain hesitant to re-enter the market, home prices soar and interest rates slowly tick upwards.” BuildFax’s “Housing Health Report” was compiled by examining properties in the U.S. between the years 2013 and 2021. All data is seasonally-adjusted and imputed to reflect numbers representative of the entire country.
